hisory of henna
Origin Of Henna:
Henna also called mehndi in hindi and urdu, has been practiced for over 5000years, but there is some documentation that dates to 9000years. Because hen has natural cooling properties, people of the desert used it to cool themselves down by soaking there plans and soles of their feet in the paste. It was also used for decorative purposes, not only for the rich but the poor who couldn't afford jewellery. |

SFX- bruised eye look
Hello everyone my name is Jess, before I continue I just want to say I’m not a professional SFX artist and have only worked with the basics, I am just doing this blog post to share my knowledge and what I am capable of with special effects makeup.
I started doing Special effects makeup on halloween of 2013,(zombie barbie all the way!) after that I was hooked, I found it so much fun creating bruises and cuts and wound getting to scare the heck out of my parents and friends with very basic stuff like latex cuts and face paint bruises just like this one below
EASY WAY/BASIC ( This method can be modified to be done anywhere on the body)
For this you will need :
1.Face Paint (colours dependant on age of the bruise)
2. make up brush
3. Fake blood (optional)
4. cosmetic sponge
Step 1: put red face paint thinly on where you want your bruise to be.
Step 2: apply a small amount of black under and on the lid of your eye.
Step 3: apply small amounts of purple around the eye.
Step 4: apply a very small amount of green near where you applied the purple.
Step 5: Apply a small amount of yellow on the cheek bone over the red.
Step 6: (optional) apply a small amount to fake blood coming from the nose.
MORE DIFFICULT WAY/ONLY FOR THE EYE
What you will need:
1.Masking tape
2.Concealer
3.Liquid latex
4.Face Paint -red, purple, green, black, yellow (dependant on bruises age)
5.Cosmetic sponge x2
6.Makeup Brush
7.Fake Blood (optional)
8.Scissors
Step 1: measure and cut a piece of masking tape so that it is only slightly bigger than your eye lid.
Step 2: carefully stick down to your lid (avoiding eyelashes) this will make your eye look swollen.
Step 3: dip the sponge into liquid latex and carefully apply this to the corner of the tape, avoiding the tear duct and lashes. And leave it to dry
Step 4: apply concealer to the lid blocking out the white from the masking tape.
Step 5: Apply the red face paint as a base.
Step 6: Apply under black and on the lid of your eye
Step 7:apply small amounts of purple around your eye
Step 8: apply a very small amount of green near the purple
Step 9: apply a small amount of yellow on the cheek bone
Step 10: apply fake blood Coming from the nose.
If you want your bruise to be different ages you can achieve this by changing the colours of the bruise, this chart below can help you achieve your desired look.
COLOUR AGE
Red (swollen and tender) 0-2 days
Blue and Purple 2-5 days
Green 5-7 days
Yellow 7-10 days
Brown 10-14 days
(WARNING This chart is not saying that a bruise of a certain age will be only that colour it is saying the it will have a significant amount of that colour/Primarily that colour.)
